EXPERIENCE

ADT Security Services, Inc.
Sr. Web Application Engineer/Senior ColdFusion Expert/CFMX 7.0 Migration Project Manager
May 2004 - Present

I am currently ADT's senior ColdFusion expert and project manager for the migration of over 30 ColdFusion enterprise applications from a CF5/Windows environment to a CF7/Linux environment. This involves my rebuilding of the application environments from scratch; responsibilities include analysis, organizing, planning, managing and implementing every step of the migration, from rebuilding SQL databases to testing and switch-over of the production environments. Previously, I became the "subject expert" and primary CF/SQL developer on several major revenue-affecting applications, including the ADT National Installation Coordination System, the ADT National Dispute Management System, and the National Commercial Proposal Generator, all of which have helped reduce operating costs and increase sales for ADT across the nation. Facilitating application change management and version control, working with end users while managing help-desk tickets, task prioritization and problem solving, database maintenance and development, and new application development and major enhancements are part of every day for me working here at ADT.

Independent Consultant
Website Application Development
May 2002 - May 2004

I maintained relationships with several clients for whom I had done development work in the past, including Republic Financial in Colorado, Anthony R. Byrne Productions in New York, and Electronic Search, Inc. in Chicago, and which included maintaining their Cold Fusion websites, developing Crystal Reports, and implementing SQL Server database changes, as well as the creation of online streaming multimedia ColdFusion applications. During this time I also designed and built four high-end website/database applications from the ground up (see below), which included database design, website and Cold Fusion development, and graphical user interface design:

Imperfection Studios
Unofficial Suzuki Madura Website
The Home Studio Musicians Association
M Funding Cash Flow Seminar (no longer online)

Client Server Associates, Inc.
Contractor - Senior Application Developer
Aurora, CO — October 2002 - February 2003

I was instrumental in facilitating the creation of a sound database design in SQL Server 2000, upon which I then built an application to spec seven weeks ahead of schedule. A full-featured client/server application which keeps track of data warehousing hardware, software and personnel costing information, the Corporate Information Factory and Operational Systems IT Organizer I built utilized T-SQL, Cold Fusion CFML, HTML, and DHTML (JavaScript, CSS, and Visual Basic Script) to give the look and feel of a Windows application while still utilizing the advantages of internet browser technology.

I not only met the owner's original requirements, but contributed dozens of constructive ideas, based on my experience with end-users, which greatly enhanced the user-friendly environment of the application. The IT Organizer application has fully functional menus, a comprehensive dynamic help feature using XML for the display of folder trees and index navigation, an embedded discussion forums module, the ability to upload and index documentation (Verity Index), data entry "wizards," and a workflow implementation and tracking module. Reports were developed in Crystal Reports 9, and the application utilizes a combination of HTML, CFML, JavaScript, ASP and Visual Basic Script to output report data through Seagate's Report Application Server 9 in PDF format. The owner was going to sell each installation of this application for $30,000.

Republic Financial Corporation
Senior Database/Application Developer - Online Database Systems
Aurora, CO — January 1999 - June 2002

I developed internal website applications with Cold Fusion, HTML, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Oracle 9i, PL/SQL and Crystal Reports. I was challenged to teach myself Cold Fusion, and to handle all aspects of full life-cycle design, including business analysis, data modeling, database administration, SQL and Oracle database design, Cold Fusion and HTML development, graphic design, user security, testing, implementation, report design, ongoing maintenance and further enhancements of database driven website applications which I built. All projects involved heavy interaction with the end-users to fully customize application interfaces and functionality, and single-handed development from concept to implementation.

Design and development of major systems included their Asset Management System, which was used by asset managers to manage hundreds of millions of dollars worth of default loan portfolios, and included a sophisticated debt tracking and cash flow projection module. I also developed the company's legal Document Tracking and Generation System, integrated it with the Asset Management System, which was used to track literally tens of thousands of loan documents. This system helped to make the Documentation department about 1000% more efficient with their paperwork. Several other major Cold Fusion database projects were developed from scratch, including HR's employee database, a PC hardware tracking system, a lender debt tracking "waterfall" system, and conversion of these systems to an Oracle 9i database from SQL Server 7.0.

Electronic Search, Inc.
Webmaster/Database Developer
Rolling Meadows, IL — October 1995 - August 1998

Originally hired for MS Access database development, I taught myself HTML and was given the opportunity to develop a website which mirrored their corporate brochure and presented the first internet presence for the company. I also built the company's intranet on a Windows NT LAN, utilizing Microsoft Internet Information Server and Index Server, which became a storehouse for thousands of searchable documents, and allowed recruiters to automatically post new job orders to the website and directly receive resumes into the resume database department. As a result of my quickly learning webpage design and web database integration, the company decided to pilot a website development department based on my skills and marketed this service to their clients. This lead to my development of five major high-end corporate websites which generated approximately $30,000 in revenue, including a site for the Northern Illinois Business Association.

Vander Wyst, Inc.
Systems Consultant
Barrington, IL — June 1993 - July 1995

Responsible for the purchasing of hardware, installation and maintenance of a Windows 3.11 for WorkGroups peer-to-peer network for this construction company. I also developed an Access database to maintain all job accounts, performed software support with employees using the Microsoft Office products, and set up a video digitizing system for documentation of construction progress. The creation of newsletters and promotional materials utilizing various graphic arts and desktop publishing software, including Corel Draw and MS Publisher, gave me experience with computer graphic arts.

Applied Dynamics, Inc.
Independent Consultant
Schaumburg, IL — January 1990 - May 1993

During this time, I worked at several companies in the northwest Chicago suburban area, building spreadsheet applications and small databases utilizing all Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Access, and gaining experience within the IT industry, as well as gaining some promotion and marketing experience.
