DATABASE AUTOMATION NOW A REALITY!

(30-JUN-03) I finally made time to supercharge the Owner's Directory with ColdFusion powered database functionality! You can view statistics of owners in different categories just by looking at the links, and you can do lookups by U.S. State, first letter of last name, or even narrow down how many people own a V1200 or a V700. The output file of the entire directory is larger than before because of the table formatting, so unless you have a fast connection, I recommend doing smaller lookups for your area. As a side note, this will also prevent search engine spiders from indexing people's names from the directory. New Owner Sign-Up is now totally automated, and when new members sign up, their information will appear in the database immediately, without having to wait for me to get around to posting it!

MADURA MAYHEM 2003 WAS A SUCCESS!!

(24-JUN-03) Madura Mayhem 2003 happened in Buena Vista, Colorado, June 20-22! Two group rides took us to the top of the Continental Divide, each on different passes above 12,000 feet in elevation, with breathtaking views in all directions - not to mention the awesome roads getting up there! LAST YEAR'S MAYHEM was held around Williamsburg, Kentucky, and 23 Maduras made it for all the fun. Here are the story and photos from the event.

The event in 2001 was the first successful Mayhem, and was the largest group of Madura owners to ever gather in one place, topped only by last year's Mayhem event, and was held in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, on June 21, 22, 2001. CLICK HERE to see a photo of 9 Maduras lined up (120k).

MADURA SPECS IN CYCLE MAGAZINE JANUARY 1986

The V1200 BHP is 89.36 max @ 8500 rpm and the torque is 61.41 max. @ 6000 rpm. In a standing start 1/4 mile, it finishes in 11.36 sec @ 117.18 mph.

It was tested at the time against three other cruisers and came in 2nd place in the 1/4 mile. The test included the Yamaha Vmax (10.99@124.04), Suzuki Madura (11.36@117.18), Kawasaki Eliminator 900 (11.40@117.42), and Honda Magna (11.44@118.42).
