MAYHEM 2003 INVITATION
MADURA MAYHEM 2003
Buena Vista, Colorado
June 20, 21 and 22, 2003

December 12, 2002

Well the location and dates have been set. Madura Mayhem 2003 will be in Buena Vista Colorado on June 20-22 2003. Last year the attendees of the Mayhem '02 voted to establish a three person panel to find a location and they have, or should I say WE have been hard at work. There are many beautiful areas in Colorado, but what we were looking for was to be as affordable as possible, and yet have everything the heart desires at our convenience and some great riding too.

The hotel that we will be headquartering out of is the Best Western Vista Inn. Their web site is http://www.bwvistainn.com or phone number 1-800-809-3495. They presently have rooms blocked off for us. They will be holding these for a limited time so get your room soon. They are giving us a special rate of $109.00 per night. Just say you are with the Madura Group. The hotels in town usually run close to capacity that time of year so don’t wait too long. The owners have been great to work with and almost as accommodating as the Iron Horse Stables were. There are another 14 motels and hotels in town if you would rather stay at something that more suites you or your tastes. They do not have a pool but they do have three outdoor hot tubs.

There is campgrounds just outside town if that is your choice, the closest being a mile away; I can help you with info if you need. There are plenty of good restaurants in town that can seat us. The Vista Inn offers a continental breakfast but I am told there is some great places in town that can take us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are plenty of details that still need to be worked out and the Vista Inn and the Chamber of Commerce have and are willing to help tremendously. We have even been offered a private tour of a local ghost town, through the buildings and all. Wow, imagine the picture that would be with all the Maduras lined up in a ghost town with the mountain peaks in the background.

The tentative schedule of the weekend is as follows: Friday afternoon, meet, greet, check-in and the official Madura Bike show. Saturday Group breakfast then a group ride off into the 14ers, group dinner at one of the fine establishments in town and awarding the trophies of the bike show (I am being told of a great prime rib on Saturday nights). Sunday a farewell group breakfast. So be sure to plan on arriving early on Friday if you want your Madura judged in the show. If you have any questions or need help you can always contact me via email galeles@juno.com or call me at 1-630-469-5044.
