(9-11-00) I just got back with my E-Bay Madura (left). I flew into Portland and rode it back to Idaho that day. I have had my first Madura for about 7 years. Even rebuilt it after I went deer-dodgin'. They are both running like raped apes but the new one is shiny. The other one sat outside its whole life, with predictable results. I hope you find time to post my pics because I am very proud of my bikes! I bought the Goldwing to ride with my wife. She says the way I ride the Madura I'll get her killed! HA HA! Now I tell my friends I have a Cadillac AND a Ferrari.

(3-22-01) I have owned a black GV700 Madura for about 5 years. It has over 30k on it, so I started looking for a lower mileage bike. This maroon GV700 was advertised on the Madura site it had a bit over 4,400 miles on it. I asked the seller if he would send some pictures of it. He sent 8 digital photos within two days. It is difficult to buy a bike that you can not test ride or see first hand. The photos did however convince me that the bike had been well cared for. Also fifteen year old bikes with less than 5k miles on them are hard to find. I told the buyer that I would buy it and sent him a check. I now had to determine how to ship it from the west coast to the east, i.e. CA to MA. I settled on J. C. Motors at a cost of $643.80. They palletize the bike and utilize North American Van Lines for cross country shipping. It took about six days to arrive at the local NAVL terminal here in MA (unusually fast). I couldn't wait, so I arranged to pick it up myself. The people at J. C. Motors and NAVL were most helpful and the bike was delivered in fine shape. I now have a bike that looks and runs as new. My thanks to the gentlemen that maintain the Madura Sites.

(4-2-01) Found this one listed for sale on this site. Listed 9/22/00. Bought it last fall on the last day warm enough to ride it home. Excellent bike, excellent deal. Amazed to find one this nice less than an hour from home (Minnesota). The owner sold it to me as an 85 and turned out to be an 86. I could not wait to ride so I took it to Daytona for Bike Week. A million Harleys and no other Maduras - loved it - I'm just not a crowd follower. Ran perfect after finding a slight vacuum leak. I will never need a faster bike - ever. I hope to die before this bike does because I will probably never have another - except for another Madara if needed. Picture taken during Bike Week. I trailered it to and from Fl. I was there for around 5 weeks and over half of the time the days were nice enough to ride so I ended up putting on around 500 miles. I found I like this bike best on the back roads. I enjoyed it there better than in town or interstate. One complaint though, 100 miles to a tank of gas. But, I guess I can't complain about that too much - nice to get off and stretch frequently.

(5-12-01) I'm a girl from Norway who owns a Suzuki Madura GV 1200 1985. I've been searching for a Madura for many, many years, and finally last year I found it! I'm very satisfied with it, and I will never give it away! There's not so many of them left, so I guess I'm lucky to have one. I would be happy to join other people who join my interest for the most beautiful bike in the world! I bought it in march 2000. After a few technical problems, it's now perfect! (thanks to my boyfriend who is a motorcycle mechanic. He owns the Madura's big brother, Cavalcade.)
I think my Madura is very special. It has a hell of a paint job on it! Raised handlebars makes handling very easy! I'm not a very big girl, only 167 cm high and 60 kg, but it's really not a problem for me driving it. I haven't seen any other girls driving a 1200 Madura here in Norway. Am I the only one? Hope to see more out there.
That was a few words from a little girl with a big bike in Norway. Hope to hear from some of you in the nearest time. I'll add my e-mail adress here, so just write me, and I will answer.

(5-21-01) Well, I am probably the youngest Madura owner on the site at the age of eighteen, but you're never too young to love and appreciate a good bike. I've had this bike for almost a year now, and I haven't had a single big problem with it. I love it! Everything about this bike is perfect, and it'll blow almost any other bike away (except my brother's 1100) off the line! I just wish it got a little better gas mileage.

(5-22-01) Here is a flic of my newest bike. An 86 1200 Madura approx. 53k. on her, she was kind beat up but I'm working on her. Bought it on May 8 2001, after selling a 1980 Honda 900 custom that I rode for over 6 years. I'm hoping to do the same or more on this ride. I'll post more flics as I do more work.

(6-7-01) This is my 1985 GV1200GL that I affectionately call "Mad-Dog." It has 12,000 miles on it and has had several dress parts replaced due to corrosion. The bike is about an 8 or 9 out of 10 and runs perfectly. I get many compliments on it and take great pride in it's condition. Believe me when I tell you that 3 years ago when I found this bike for my brother near my house, it wasn't in anywhere near the condition it's in now. My brother bought new rear pegs, new mirrors, new radiator covers, new pipes and shield for the right side, a new tail piece (behind the rear seat over the taillight), new grop caps and a few other things. Not to mention the hours both of us spent re-doing the spokes. This winter the engine cases are coming off to be polished. They are really the only thing distracting from the bike being otherwise perfect.

(6-20-01) I bought the bike last year after finding that a friend had it stored in his garage for 6 years. I bought it cheap but took it to the local Suzuki dealership and promptly spent $1100 on it getting the carbs rebuilt, new battery, tires, complete tune-up, fluids etc. The bike had 30,000 Kms. on it and looked like new. The only problem was the aluminum covers had some corrosion. I removed most of the covers, and refinished them (big pain in the butt job) but the end result is a bike that looks new. I just replaced the small Tracy Designs windshield that was on the bike when I bought it with a new Motoplexx shield that looks great. I also bought some Chase Harper bags and a Chase Harper tank bag for touring. Both these items are small and look in proportion to the bike. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of this stuff yet. I am taking off on a little cross country trip next week (Vancouver to Winnipeg return) so I'm sure that I'll have some stories to share after that. The only problem that I'm anticipating is the pathetically small gas tank. The best I've got today is 46 mpg. which I guess isn't all that bad, however, that still only gives me about 125 mile range.
I've only put a few thousand km's on the bike since I got it but to date, it's a pretty impressive little machine.
