(6-2-03) Here is a picture of my 1200 Madura. I am the 2nd owner of this beauty. It has 13,000 miles and is in mint condition except for the spoke wheels. I have been wanting to replace them, but had to clean the carbs this winter.....wow what a costly job and finding someone to do the job was even a bigger task. The only other real work that has been done was replacing the clutch. Other than that it has been a low maintenance bike except for all the polishing. I love to ride it, but feel guilty because I don't want to put a lot of miles on it. I am on the search for buying another one for my girlfriend to ride, but she really wants a Harley.....trying to reform her....any help would be appreciated!!!! She needs a lot of it.
I have been in search for the stock back-rest for the drivers seat. The original owner told me he never got one with it when he purchased it. Maybe that was an extra option? If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know. I love this web site!!!!!!

(6-21-03) The attached pics are of my Madura GV700GLF. I purchased this bike about 6 years ago and have been enjoying it ever since. As you can tell there have been a lot of modifications made to customize this bike but ultimately it's still a Madura. The paint job was redone by Burton Kelley and put back together on Easter weekend. I can't imagine riding any other bike unless it was a 1200 Madura.
When I purchased this bike the owner had done some modifications but they were all unfinished... Many things had to be custom fabricated to work on it. For one the air box is gone and there are 8 K&N's in its place. There are four fully functional ones tucked under the fuel tank and 4 (2 on each side) that come out on the sides for appearance only. So you might say that this customization project was initiated out of necessity. This bike is truly my pride and joy and sometimes my sanity. If anyone would like to contact me I can be reached at madurawoman@hotmail.com.
Thanks for giving us proud Madura owners a site where we can show off our pride and joy.

(6-29-03) So, my friend got hurt and couldn't ride. His Madura sat outside for 12 years and I intercepted it on the way to the graveyard. Six months later, a new tire, a carb overhaul and some help from a parted out Madura (thanks Mike) she's road worthy again! Some cosmetic work left but she rides and runs as good as new. Hey, only 13,000 original miles and I'm the second owner of my first Madura. Here is a current photo. See, there's always hope! How about a Mayhem in the Northeast!!?!?

(7-24-03) Hi... Here is a picture of my 1985 V1200 Madura. As you can see I'm not a chrome kinda guy. I'm trying slowly but surely to 'black out' my Madura. The mirrors, side panels, front fender and the engine have been repainted black and or replaced with black parts. She has just over 40,000 and runs like a top... I can't believe these bikes! Simply the most comfortable and powerful bikes of its time and class! I've put alot into her... and she gives me alot back! New cluth and springs, new rubber front and back, rebuilt rear shock, new front fork seals, both rims trued and tightened and the list goes on, but ya know what? This isn't anything that any other bike wouldn't need at this age so... This August I'm having the seats redone with the front getting a gel insert. Lord I love this bike... Keep the moving parts clean!

(8-7-03) I got this baby in Feb 2002 from a friend that had to much bike
on his garage, and hit the lottery with her. I think this was the best bike he had in his garage regardless of age. This the best cruiser/crotch-rocket ever made. I can't say more than you guys already don't know. The more you ride her, the better she gets!

(8-10-03) This is my first bike ever... and what a find. I bought this bike from Mr. Walt Kulik of Michigan, a registered Madura owner. It is a GV700GLF. Check out the pipes on this one, this is some sort of custom job. No baffles... just as loud as those Harley sportsters, and just a tad more pretty. The only beef I've got with the bike is the gas mileage. I can only get about 75 miles to the tank.
As for this website it is awesome. There is so much info on here it is hard to take in. Safe and Happy Riding.

(8-13-03) I purchased the bike in July this year (2003) from a friend of a friend who bought the bike a few years ago to steal the engine for a project he was working on. One look at the bike and he could not bring himself to dismantle it. The bike had not been ridden since 1992. So you know the tank and carbs needed a lot of help. The rear fender had a dent, and the front tire was gone. It was still there but is was so worn I got nervous just loading it on the trailer.
The local Suzuki dealer said they could handle the carbs and the tank so I took it in to let them nurse this sleeper back to life. They were excited to see it as they had not seen one for a long time. After about a week they were using other adjectives to describe the old girl. Needless to say they got the job done and it runs like a dream. While the work was progressing on the engine I took the fender in to get it repaired. The repair was easy but matching that maroon paint was going to be tough. We decided to paint it metallic black, and now that it is done it looks like a Canadian Charcoal. I was not trying to get to that color it just seemed to come out that way. The bike did not get finished in time for us to make it Sturgis this year, but we will be there next year and plan to attend the 2004 Mayhem. Thanks for a great site.
