"STRATEGIC INITIATIVES FOR
CREATING A LEARNING CULTURE"

A Presentation by Dennis Kessler,
Former Co-President of Fel-Pro

1998 NIBA CEO & Human Resource Program

Widespread labor shortages.....Current deficiencies in skilled workforce.....Changing job requirements in 3 to 5 years...all are indicators of the impending crisis facing American companies as they strive to compete globally. A recently published report from NAM's Manufacturing Institute confirms that a collaborative effort between employers, educators and government is needed to improve the quality of the American workforce.

Responding to this challenge, Fel-Pro's former Co-President, Dennis Kessler, will outline how Fel-Pro has bridged this learning gap through outreach to local schools, job shadowing and internship programs to achieve status as a world class leader in worker satisfaction, benefits and compensation. Highlights will include:

  • 1997 Skills Shortage Gap Analysis at Fel-Pro
  • Mechanisms for Retaining and Retraining Existing Workforce
  • Fel-Pro's "Outreach" program for High Schools and Community Colleges
Dennis Kessler, is former Co-President of Fel-Pro and President of Kessler Management Consulting LLC. Fel-Pro recently sold to Federal-Mogul, has been a diversified group of companies which manufactures and distributes gaskets, engine parts, and industrial chemicals.
